What is BSV Mobile Business Deposit?

Remote Deposit Online allows your business to make deposits remotely using your smartphone or tablet. Take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check from your place of business and send the images securely over the internet to The Bank of Southside Virginia for deposit.

What are the benefits of using BSV Mobile Business Deposit?

This service gives you the flexibility to make deposits and enjoy the flexibility of not having to leave your office. Checks can be deposited via your smartphone anytime and anywhere.

Is there a fee for the BSV Mobile Business Deposit service?

Yes. There is a service fee of $10 a month and $5 for each additional business account.

How many checks per month can I scan using BSV Mobile Business Deposit?

You can scan up to 50 checks per month.

Is there a dollar limit on these checks?

Refer to your agreement.

Is there a fee to cancel the service?

No. You can cancel at any time.

Can I have more than 1 user? Can I have more than 1 Online ID?

No. At this time, the service can only support a single user with a single Online ID.

What do I do with my checks after I make a deposit with BSV Mobile Business Deposit?

After you send check images using BSV Mobile Business Deposit, write the words “Electronically Processed” on the front of the check. The endorsed deposited items must be safeguarded for a minimum of 30 calendar days from the date you verify deposit in your business checking account. After 30 days, they must be destroyed or otherwise rendered incapable of transmission or presentment. We recommend cross-cut shredding of the document.

Does everyone qualify for the BSV Mobile Business Deposit product?

No. You need to meet certain requirements for this service. Please call 800-619-5211 during business hours for additional details and to find out if you qualify.

Does BSV Mobile Business Deposit verify funds at point of deposit?

No. BSV Mobile Business Deposit does not provide the ability to verify funds at time of deposit. Checks that are deposited by 3p.m. local time will be made available the next day. Please note that these deposits are subject to holds.

Can I make deposits to my personal accounts?

Yes, as long as they are setup on the same NetTeller account and your personal account is setup to take deposits; multiple NetTeller accounts are not supported on the same device.

What are the hardware requirements for BSV Mobile Business Deposit?

BSV Mobile Business Deposit is available for iOS or Android smartphones and tablets. The device must have internet access.

What is the upload speed of a scanned check?

The upload speed can vary depending on the signal strength and speed. Expect between 7-45 seconds under average conditions.

What steps should I take to avoid fraud?

  • Do not share your online banking password or mobile app PIN with anyone. Do not store this information on your mobile device.

  • Keep scanned checks in a safe place, if it helps, write “deposited” on the check so as to not scan duplicates.
  • You are the only authorized user for BSV Mobile Business Deposit, if you need multiple users, consider our desktop scanner solutions.
  • Review deposits in the app frequently for accuracy and to prevent fraudulent use.
